Welcome to our dance

Our next dance will be on September 11th.

We are moving the Pueblo Contra Dance to a new hall!!

The September 11th dance will be held at the Washington Children’s Center located at 401 S. Prairie (the corner of S. Prairie and Thatcher).  Check the directions link for more info and Directions, or use the easy to print directions here.

Pueblo's contra dance is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month. A beginners walk-through starts at 7:00pm. The dance runs from 7:30-10pm. Admission: $7, (students $4 with a valid student ID).

The dance is open to everyone. To learn more about what a contra dance is, click on the link "What is a Contra Dance". It's great fun, good exercise and a terrific way to enjoy an evening dancing and some great music.  You don't need a partner to enjoy the dance.

We always have live music and a caller who teaches the dances to the extent necessary, based on the experience level of the dancers.

We are working to create a community dance here in Pueblo. To help explain what this means, we have posted a terrific new video featuring Don Paine of the Last Minute Stringband and the Glenwood Springs Contra Dance.

Check-out the great article in the January 7th edition of The Pueblo Chieftain about the dance HERE.

The Pueblo PULP Magazine published a review of our grand opening dance, which they described as "nearly bringing down the house" in their February edition. You can read about the "Pueblo Hootenanny" HERE
